I’ve been VIBSKOVED! www.henrikvibskovboutique.com
You can now call me “Cologne Crazy!” Just added Marc Jacobs BANG to my little collection today…so good!
I have been infected with the procrastination virus. I’ve put the task of posting something on this blog aside so many times that it has almost been a month since my last post. SHAME ON ME!
Well today’s post was just too good to pass up. I would like to share with you, my latest purchase and gift to myself (everyday is my birthday in June).
I’ve always wanted a trench. It’s classic, timeless and a must have piece in any mans wardrobe at SOME point of his life. My time was now. I had searched high and low for the perfect trench coat that suited my needs, my style and my wardrobe. It couldn’t be just any regular trench, this one had to be the cream of the crop!
After months of searching, I had almost given up. Yet something in my mind told me that it would pop out from no where, right onto my lap. It literally did. There I was, walking into Barney’s New York for some exclusive window shopping (prices are insane!) and WHAM, Trench Coat, with the PERFECT details and shape AND length. It was just perfect. “It’s the last in the company” the associate said…of course it is. “It’s 65% off this thursday too!” Of course it is! Not much thought was put into this purchase. I had to have it. The coat was the perfect hybrid of your classic trench with a slight modern twist in detail. I knew I would not be so lucky as to stumble upon something quite as perfect any time soon. Although I cringed at the total when she swiped my card, I was one happy camper as I waltzed out of the store.
Thank You 3.1 Phillip Lim for the perfect Trench.
24 years ago, a new, piercing cry was welcomed with warm and open arms into the Ysahak family. It was a new experience for both my parents and myself as I inhaled my first breath, grasping their fingers with my already dominant left hand.
I am grateful for my parents and all they have put up with in my life. Although we’re not perfect, I can honestly say that I have had a life of great fortune and adventure. WHAT A RIDE!
Looking back, one always wonders if things could have been done differently? Could some things have been left out? All I would have changed is the death of my father along side that day I hit and pierced my head on a table (leaving a nasty scar) and my over consumption of ketchup during my early years. Other than that, I love my life and everything that came with it. Through their love and support, either in spirit or on this earth, I still remain, strong, alive and definitely kicking.
Thank You Mom and Dad and aunt Zizi.
Your Son.
p.s. Little brother, you mean the world to me.
Enjoying my Bento Box at my new favorite Sushi restaurant by work.
Itadakimasu!
And so the big day has arrived! Today I am officially an employee at Saks Fifth Avenue. But no matter the challenge, nothing beats a man in a nicely tailored suit (cheap monday) and salmon pink shirt (Dior).
Let’s put the theory to the test…
As you may or may not know, I’m back in my home town: STOCKHOLM!
The best town in the world hands down! I needed a fresh start before my jump onto the higher end side of retail (Saks anyone?) so I decided to take a short trip home and surprise everyone who thought I wouldn’t be making over for the summer. BOY was it a success!
There are so many pictures and video clips to come but I wanted to share this one first of the super cool, fresh and real Hall Kaften Och Dansa crew and myself - Lottie who was being an angel and taking care of some orphans somewhere. The pic was taken for promotional reasons for their upcoming party this Friday May 13th in Gothenburg Sweden in collaboration with GALAGOWEAR.
I was more than honored when they asked me to join in on the pic…seeing as they are my best friends I don’t see why not? haha. Click on either one and check them out!
TO BE CONTINUED…

When it comes to fragrances, I love my soft colognes. The ones that make you feel like a man but don’t have you stinkin’ up the place. Pleasant scents that’ll draw anyone to your presence. There are actually 6 categories of fragrances that colognes fall into. After you’ve figured out which one you click with, it’s easier to decide which cologne is right for you. There is:
Floral — The largest, and most popular, category is created mainly from flowers, such as roses, orange blossoms, gardenias, jasmine and carnations. These are often blended together to produce a distinctive floral bouquet.
Oriental — A heady mix of spices, amber, balsams and resins marks this type, suggestive of warmth and exotic sensuality. Because of the group’s rich, musky traits, these luxurious scents make the best statement in the winter, says Rochelle Bloom, president of the Fragrance Foundation.
Citrus — Derived from citrus fruits such as lime, lemon, tangerine and mandarin, this fragrance type projects a sharp, tangy aroma. Naturally refreshing and uplifting, citrus blends work well for women who don’t want to wear overpowering fragrance.
Chypre — A notably woodsy-mossy mix, this type was given its name by French perfumer Francois Coty, who created a scent based on his impression of the island of Cyprus. “Chypre” simply is French for Cyprus and is pronounced “SHIP-ruh.” Hints of bergamot, oak moss, citrus and patchouli enrich the sweet, earthy aromas.
Green — Sharp, grassy notes blend with pine, juniper, leaves and herbs to create memorable perfumes. Sporty and brisk, green scents make good buys for the outdoorsy man or woman.
Fougere — French for fern and pronounced “foo-JHAIR,” it’s a combination of fresh herbs and mossy ferns that come together in a sophisticated urban style. While men typically wear fougere fragrances, fougere fragrances still capture women’s olfactory attention. One fougere scent, Jean Nate by Revlon, has been a best-selling scent for women since its launch in 1935.
Every fragrance I have purchased since my first cologne has fallen into the Oriental category. YSL ‘La Nuit’, the new Chanel Bleu and my fragrance for this summer, Dolce & Gabbana ‘The One’. The first two have never failed me and I’ve always gotten a decent amount of compliments by wearing which ever one. I caught a whiff of the new one off of my uncle’s coat and went on a hunt for it until there it was at Macy’s, two bottles for the price of one. You can’t beat that! Just remember, always know what category of scent you fall into, and know what works with your body.
Which type are you?
Smell ya later.
I’d like to take the liberty of welcoming a Henrik Vibskov piece to my wardrobe! Part of his “Last Peir Pandemonium” collection, this cardigan was a must have as soon as I saw it (regardless of the price).
Where did I get it? in CHICAGO! Yes, believe it or not, now Chicagoans can purchase runway pieces from the likes of Damir Doma, Vivienne Westwood (VERY rare), Henrik Vibskov, Rad Hourani and other designer treasures from Bonnie & Clyde’s, a Chicago based specialty store that has now started carrying such amazing brands. It has become my sanctuary and I’m sure I’ll coming back for more…
The season of Spring 2011 brought along many new trends for us to play with. Some were not as favorable as others while others were must have pieces for the coming summer. One trend that truly caught my eye was the infamous fanny pack. This season we saw the likes of Gucci, Prada and Marc Jacobs send their male models down the runway with different renditions of the alleged accessory that was a trademark piece of the 80’s.
Reaching the peak of it’s popularity back then, the bag has slowly made a come back in womenswear the past few years and is slowly trickling into menswear. I personally have been on a hunt for my own personal fanny pack, one that resembles the Marc Jacobs version as I see it as the most wearable and modern looking (sorry Gucci, Prada). I hope to find it soon…
Fun Fact - Here are a few different names for the Fanny Pack used in different countries: The fanny pack (US, Canada), belt pack (US), belly bag (US), Buffalo pouch (US), hip sack (US), waist bag (US),hip pack (UK), bum bag (UK, Canada, Oceania, Ireland), banano (South America) or moon bag (South Africa)
