It has been exactly one year since the legendary and beloved Alexander McQueen - a pioneer in the realm of fashion and design - left us in mourning. Fashion will not be the same without him. With the help of Bjork, Nick Knight pays his tribute through this video, featuring the late McQueen’s sensational work and commemorating his out-of-this-world career. Casting all black models, Knight truly created a work of art worthy of complimenting McQueen (It sends chills up y spine every time I watch it).
Rest in Peace Alexander Lee McQueen.
As a means of taking a break from Fashion Week madness (consequences of writing about it this late) I’d like to share with you this music video filled with spontaneity and playful imagery to further show you how fast my head is racing right now. The bonus? The song is absolutely delightful!

If you’ve heard Kanye West’s new album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, I’m sure you’ve come across the track Monster featuring Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, and Rick Ross. It is by far one of my favorite tracks on the album and I am sure looking forward to a mind blowing video to go hand-in-hand with such a raw track. Here is a sneak preview of that very music video, complimentary of www.hiphopconnection.com.
write me and tell me your favorite track on the album…
PURPL PoP - The Way (Official Video) (via purplpopofficial)
Peforming their debut single, swedish duo PURPL Pop hit the stage with a force to be reckoned with. Not only is their first pop song catchy, and the video funky but my friends Gabbi, Lottie, Nicole, Matilde and Chili or on the video!!!!!!!! MY GIRLS ARE NOW OFFICIAL VIDEO GIRLS!!!
Congratz to all PURPL Pop and the girls.
Erykah Badu - Window Seat (Music Video) (via kuboid93)
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video in these past few days, whether it be the message and strength it carries or the simple fact that it features the queen B of neo-soul herself, it is KING.
Inspired by Matt and Kim, Erykah Badu takes it to the streets in her full african rooted glory…all exposed. Starting a conversation of liberation vs slavery of the mind, Ms Badu strips down to nothing but her birthday suite as she slowly walks down the street with dozens of onlookers, who don’t seem to pay her any mind until she’s practically naked.
Here is Window Seat from her new album which is a continuation of her album New Amerykah pt 1. This is New Amerykah pt 2, Return of the Ankh.
The Knife - Live - Heartbeats (via alexidane)
Again and again, I fall in love with Karin and Olof Drejer’s music. Under their alias The Knife, they continue to entrance me and many others with their much appreciated talent.
I’ll never forget the day I first heard them, intently watching their music video Pass This On, pondering on the fact of whether the figure lip syncing to the song on the video was a man or a woman…or a combination of both (I was young at the time). Their funky, contemporary videos were more than enough to capture my attention. Yet it was the music that left me speechless. I’d never heard a woman take upon so many roles in one song vocally before. I’d never heard words that weighed so heavily on my brain after listening to them frequently. Karin was a fascinating creature, with an even more fascinating mind. I love their work, all their collaborations - which in my opinion, were never wasteful. This is just my way of looking back and really appreciating what their music has done for me.
Here is a live version of their memorable single, Heartbeats.

Lady Gaga - Telephone ft. Beyoncé (via LadyGagaVEVO)
You’ve probably heard about the much awaited music video for Lady Gaga’s single Telephone featuring Beyonce in the past couple of months. This video probably had a premiere bigger than most movie premieres (no joke).
Here it is, the much anticipated 9min! long music video for Telephone…
George Michael & MJB - “As” (via vernez)
THROW BACK TIME!
One of my favorite songs as a kid. I was simply mesmerized by this video (simply because I was amused by how different copies they had made of George and Mary). Here is a more groovy cover of Stevie Wonder’s hit “As”
This song is perfect in every way…
